Who Are These Guys?

By now you've seen all of the pics we have of our artists. So here are the guys who run the label.

We know you don't want to see us. But we're putting these pics up anyway.

Because we can.

                                                Howard Hertz                        Les Schefman

Howard Hertz and Les Schefman decided to combine their industry expertise and talent to create an independent record label that would enable them to work with artists they believe in. The result is SuperString.

Who does what? Howard is the Business Director, and Les is the Creative Director. Howard runs the label, Les handles A&R and Artist Production.

Howard is the attorney for the best-known artists from Detroit, and is the President of the Motor City Music Foundation. He also sits on the Chicago board of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, the ArtServe Michigan board, and many more. He has demonstrated staunch commitment to recording artists during his entire career. Recognition of his efforts is demonstrated by the many arts community and legal community awards he has won over the years.

In addition to maintaining an active law practice, Les is among the top commercial, film, and television composers in the region; his scores and productions have graced two Emmy winners, and several Communicator and Renaissance award winners for such clients as Budweiser, DaimlerChrysler, GM, Ford, UPN television, and many other national and regional clients. Les produced Patrick Thomas' "Ghost Town Radio," nominated for five Detroit Music Awards upon its release.
